I no longer use a QL with a back-plane - when I did have that set up it was to use an Aurora, Super Gold Card and QubIDE in a PC Tower Case.
I also liked to have a spare slot for access to a QEP III for example (although I never had one at the time)... The main issue now is that ATX cases (for which this combination was designed I think) are now hard to find.
