Hi Norman,

I can remove DRM easily, I doubt it is ethical.

BUt I think for a personal copy, I would like to add notes to the ebook, which meaning I will have to buy the book.

Regards,

Derek

Hi Derek,

Kindle DRM is pretty simple to deactivate. I did it myself some time ago
when I needed a paid for Kindle book on my other reader for work. The
iRiver needs ePub format, so a quick de-DRM and a Calibre conversion,
and it was done.

Legally, it's a bit tenuous of course, I own the Kindle version and paid
for it, and nobody but me can read it, and I only read on one or the
other device, plus it counts as a backup in case Amazon decide to lock
me out of my books one day, as they do.

I'm sure a recent change to copyright law in the UK made provision for
this sort of copying, but, as mentioned, it's tenuous - and was at the
time, definitely!

Cheers,
Norm.
