Poorly attended, but not surprising given the limited publicity, foot and
mouth, and bad weather forecast. Still what I would describe as a successful
trading show and a good sfeer. Good hall, better than the hotel, good
catering, better parking, better public transport (or would be if Connex ran
a proper train service). Only problem could be electricity supply with
larger group.
As far as I know I was the only person to announce anything new. I have a
rhyming dictionary in preparation and gave a few demonstrations. I expect it
to be ready for the first show after Portishead. Mind you, John Gregory
found a mistake straight away. In the past he has also found a grammar fault
in one of my manuals. Must watch him. Obviously a trouble maker.
Now completely off topic, but worth repeating. At the end of the show Roy
asked me how it was. I replied "Good, I'm trading in profit", only to see
Roy step backwards with a surprised look. He had heard it as, "Good, I'm
training as a prophet".
Woe unto you, sinful QL-ers! Repent of your evil ways! The end is at hand!
