I like the mailing list because it requires no positive action from me

If routeing is set so that mail is diverted into a pseudo newsgroup,
then there is no pain in receiving it - it does not clog up my filed
mail.
There is hardly 'tons of mail' - oh that there were.
Mind you the advantage of a BBS system that mail cannot be lost.
I lost a whole batch while I was in Canada.
