Since Darren has let the cat out of the bag on the QL Mialing List, I
may as well put the full story up here.
For some time now, after putting a lot of time and effort into the QL
Emulators CD, I have amassed a large number of QL PD software, much of
which is on the QL Emulators CD.
There is a huge amount of free QL software out there, and quite a lot
of it can be obtained from the internet if you have net access, that
is.
So Darren persuaded me to set up a PD library disk copying service.
It'll be officially launched with and advert in the next issue of QL
Today, but it'll also be at the Byfleet Quanta Workshop this sunday.
The library isn't yet complete, but it already has dozens of disks and
a catalogue disk (which is available either by sending me a disk and
return postage or by email or from my website soon when the page has
been set up). Disks will be supplied copied at 1 pound each (or 75p
each if you supply the disk) plus 1 postage to UK/Europe or 2
postage elsewhere.
As with other PD libraries, this will be non-profit making, the whole
idea being to make QL free software available on disk for those who
cannot get the software any other way.
I hope to be copying PD disks for anyone needing the service at the
Byfleet Quanta Workshop this weekend, which is what Darren was going
on about.
