Well I mainly use PWFile and it has a curious problem with the DOS device. It usually truncates the first letter making you unable to perform ANY kind of file operation... Apart from that you all know my opinion about S*Basic being the command interpreter and plainly it's a lot simpler to switch to Windows type cmd and perform file operations like delete or mass rename... not to mention that I never understood nor mastered (obviously) the wildcard idea in TKII Qdos / SMSQ/E. I'm a CP/M child and I want my asterisks... not to mention having to type THE WHOLE #$@#$$@@ pathname can be VERY upsetting. Of course I won't use DATA_USE and PROG_USE statements for something as simple as a mass rename... Adrian Ives' Shell btw (at least the version I have) that I could use doesn't have the supporting commands) and his website has been long lost so..... I stick with CMD :-) On top of everything there is Nothing in the QL world like Norton Commander for example... shells are so hard to use that I just don't bother... Guess instead of complaining I should put my butt down and write an NC clone for QDOS huh???? Most likely... I do have an nVidia GeForce 2MX (Not the best possible) and I use the Detonator XP drivers which are very fast but sometimes unpredictable (Commandos' for example (one of my favourite games) refuses to play with the Detonator Drivers while on the other hand with the lousy MEGA HARD drivers it does work... ) Phoebus >Marcel
