It still MAY work with QL et al, but provided you: 1) use WIN_DRIVE to unlink the partitions on the CF 2) take out the CF card 3) Do whatever you need to do with it elsewhere 4) Replace that same CF card or at least one of the same manufacturer, size and formatted the same way 5) use WIN_DRIVE to link in the partitions on the CF again. I am not sure that SMSQ can completely unlink partitions, though. Qubide can do it, but it relies on detecting how many drives (even if they are CF cards) are connected at startup. If there is no CF card in the adapter at startup, even though a hot-swap adapter will take care of the proper electrical interface once it's plugged in, the Qubide will not see it. It MAY be possible to modify the Qubide driver to support 'on demand drive detection' which would automatically enable hot swapping of CF cards given proper adapters or newer Qubide hardware. It was looked at when Qubide was first made but since real IDE drives are very much un-hot-swappable, it was abandoned in the early stages. I am currently looking into making the Qubide II / EtherIDE hardware support this since it will have a CF card socket option on it. Of course, changes to Qubide code are needd, which means the source is needed... and we all know that problem :-( Nasta
