I have missed part of this thread, but IIRC this arose out of Phoebus
having difficulty zipping to a DOS device.
Some people have had difficulty with zipped files on my website and I
have been in the habit of zipping direct to DOS device to avoid
transferring later. Perhaps this explains where the duff zip files
originated. It never occurred to me it might be a DOS device problem,
sorry Marcel.
The improved filename translation algorithm will be most welcome.
