No that won't work with XP as XP is based on NT and not DOS (AFAIK that is). Not to mention that I even if it is based on DOS (WinXP Home that is since I'm 100% sure that the pro IS NT) I don't think that it will allow you to install QPC 1's protection The hack is WinME specific.
