TT did not do a version higher than 2.85 for the QXL until the colour drivers for it were released. This was because he had some problems with his version and he was trying to sort them out. Jochen recompiled the sources when new versions were released for other platforms so the version number as shown in the config block stayed at 2.85 while the actual version number increased. I think this is the right story but I am willing to be corrected.
