I have come across this problem as well - QPC, QLAY and QeMulator all have problems reading QL formatted disks. QPC2 v3.02 is a little more robust than the other two but not 100 per cent.
The problem seems to be improved if you switch off any virus protection in the PC's BIOS.
However, the readme files suggest that the problem lies in the Windows operating system, and so there is little that QLTools or anything else can do. You may have to resort to using PC formatted disks or a network card when it is released for the QL!!
