I am sure there's a good reason, but > some quarters are highly suspicious and may infer meaning behind this that > doesn't belong. This was sarcastic - some people seem to think that Roy and myself make a fortune on selling SMSQ/Es for GoldCard etc. ... and we get accused of directing Wolfgang somehow. That's why I said: if somebody thinks he can earn a lot of money, become reseller, re-sell GoldCard or whatever SMSQ/Es and become rich - I would not get in the way advertising to any of the thousands of customers. To be precise: I am not saying I want to stop advertising it, but it would not make the slightest difference, money-wise. QPC is a different matter - for many reasons. There is nothing secret behind it, but it doesn't matter. I have an agreement with Marcel and I stick to it. And we're not talking about QPC, which is "commercial" anyway, we're talking about the other SMSQs. Don't get me wrong: I don't expect to make much money, but I am sick of being accused directly or indirectly of untrue things ... worse, things which make no sense at all. I am staying in the QL community for several reasons. One is: I like it and I liked most of the people, and that's also a reason why I go to the shows, meet the people etc. It's supposed to make fun. Where is the fun here? Some people behave as if Microsoft is giving the license for free away to copy Windows unlimited and sell it. Really, where is the joy in all this? Even when various dealers, Miracle, TF Systems, me, were selling competing products (ATARIs, SuperHermes, QXL) we ALWAYS treated each other fair, were and are still friends - and we all worked TOGETHER in the same direction. This, unfortunately, is not true anymore since the Q40 has arrived. The "TOGETHER" has gone, and I have never seen so much unfriendlyness in the first 13 years which I have seen in the last 3 years .... and we're only so few people left! It also seems that the written, unpersonal form (like this newsgroup or email) has a much lower barrier for certain behaviour than personal face-to-face meetings, like QL shows. The QL "community" flair, which seems to exist at the shows, seems to disappear on this list - it seems to have split into "camps" ... the worst which could happen. But you are right, Dave, this has happened before this SMSQ/E discussion has started. Jochen
