Just allow me correct you, football is the entertainment (that's not a game anymore) where 20 people are running after the same ball, trying to send it in a rectangular frame that two other people do not want it to reach. All the 22 peoples are so rich that the only way they find to make their plots is violence (instead of speaking calmly with each others, as the adults they look like to be should). Last point: whenever the ball reachs one of the frame, it seems to be a signal for some strange sexual behaviour. May be it's a reproduction signal and explains why there is so much of them ?
