That does sound like a damaged file. Would you like me to email you a
copy direct? (off list of course).

Interestingly, after what Marcel said about the signal extensions and
Archivers Control Panel and the buried message window, I tried this. I
got ACP to "lock" while reading a directory, but it could still be
RJOBbed. But when this happens, you can start another copy of ACP and
the second one works as long as the "locked" one is still present.
Weird.
