Sorry folks - I have only just noticed this email from D&D about the
Birmingham NEC show they attended.
I was lucky enough to get to it too, and was just astounded by the quality
of the show - it was great. It of course was packed with PC vendors, but all
where selling items for a fraction of the costs you'd expect on the high
street. I picked up some CF cards for my CF adapters for a lower price than
I could get wholesale in Ireland.
D&D where in the retro computing section, along with Alex Wells and Shaun
from Manchester, who has a VAST collection of sinclair machines, including
all the russian clones.
Dennis suggested that Micro Mart were very committed to expanding the retro
section next year, and I would certainly love to attend as a vendor - it was
a real kick to walk around the retro section, pointing at old ZX81's,
ORIC's, and Commodores and reliving the good 'ol days. I think the QL
traders would all get a buzz from this kind of huge venue, and also get a
chance to maybe increase the user base by getting some old QL'ers back into
the fold.
So Dennis - whats the story? Can we all come next year? :-)))
