Hello everyone out there! I must admit I could hardly have expressed my very own opinion better than Stephen did .
Let me guess ... if someone started developing a complete SMS/Q compatible hardware system from scratch, they would end up with a system and a price close to the Q60 machine. I am convinced D&D do not take an extraordinary profit margin. But ... since it is a VERY straightforward conclusion that someone who starts developing a QL successor must be an enthusiast, they would naturally start with an optimistic forecast on the price. However - real life is cruel. Computers get only cheap, as they sell in millions - as the C64 and Sony's PS1 did. I hope with the last statement I would not start an endless discussion either or not the PS1 is a computer; please believe me: IT IS ... to some extent ;-) At the moment I am using QLay, as Stephen does, and a real QL - and I miss the Toolkit II on both of them. As far as I understand the matter, the QPC2 must be an EXTRAORDINARY piece of software. From my perspective this is the definitive answer to all the guys who already have a box "taking up space on (their) desks." But the price for QPC is fairly high, so I would NEVER buy it "just by the way", maybe I will get one from Mr. Santa... Greetings!
