I think you misunderstood me. I said that SMSQ/E is (currently) free as an (recent)
upgrade for users of GC/SGC SMSQ/E (Which means you need to own SMSQ/E first)

Simple ownership of the hardware doesn't entitle you to ownership of SMSQ/E.

Of course you can always get the sources from Wolfgang and compile it yourself...
then yes it's practically free
