Hello,

I know it's not really on-topic, but it's close, and any information you may
be able to pass along would be appreciated.

I received an email from a gentleman who owns a TS-2068 that has developed a
fault; when the machine is powered up, the copyright message is displayed,
but the keyboard is locked, and a red square is displayed in the message
area. I suggested trying a few possibilities to try and isolate the problem,
none of which seemed to solve it, so I believe it is possible to (initially)
rule out:

Faulty ROM: Removed, pins cleaned, reseated.
Faulty Keyboard: Removed keyboard, tried another, cleaned contacts, replaced
original one.
Faulty video output: Same on TV & RGB.

The memory is soldered in, so couldn't be easily tested, as is the SCLD - I
believe this is the culprit. Since some of you may be familiar with the
inner workings of the machine, I thought I'd pass this along in case you
could offer any help or suggest any further troubleshooting tips. Should you
want to contact him directly, his name is Les Cottrell, and his email
address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] I understand he may have a spare SCLD if
anyone is able to fit it for him or offer a repair service at reasonable
cost.

Thanks in advance,

Callum Davidson
