We didn't even have electronic calculators!

I wonder if there is a web site, or a download somewhere out there (I've not come across any 'easy' ones) for duffers like me to get a grip on how all the FP stuff hangs together, how it can be used in counting, etc etc.

We need "The Idiot's Guide to Floating Point Number Theory" I think !
