Well, there you go - another enthusiastic previous participant!!!

Several years ago , in 1997, I had the first show, which was a show and had
all the trimmings. It was fun and quite a few attended from the UK. However
last year , for the 2nd show, I organised it a bit late and didn't give
enough time to advertising it in QL Today and Quanta, with the outcome that
only a couple of "punters" came aside from the traders - this however, was
a welcome thing, as it gave all of us traders a chance to sit around
enjoying excellent food, drink, and accommodation in one of Irelands best
tourist locations, and opportunity to catch up with each other on a
personal level, which we don't often get the chance to do anymore - usually
now we all turn up for a show, and head home straight afterwards, with no
meal or even a drink organised.

So, thats the story - I hope to hold it towards the end of August, but I
forgot that the Bank Holiday is then in the UK (its at the start of the
month in Ireland) so I am currently rechecking available hotel and guest
houses for vacancies on the previous weekend before the Bank hol. I should
know by the weekend, and will post the dates here.

You can also make a holiday out of it, as it is only a 40 minute drive from
Dublin City centre, and there are loads of great tourist attractions within
10 minutes of the venue - The Glendalough National park, Wicklow Gaol (an
1800's gaol restored with waxworks etc.) Trout fishing, Championship Golf
courses, Hillwalking, guided tours, even a couple of Funparks for the
kids!!

So, all that remains is to ask - whos coming??

I know Roy will, and Tony probably (I assume) and John Hall has also said
he'll come......... Anybody else??

Trust me, if you've never been to Ireland, you'll love it - very laid back
and relaxing and a nice place to visit. Great quality beer, and home made
food, and not too expensive either. I remember Tony was plesantly surprised
when a 4 course meal plus a beer or two at a local restaurant worked out at
only 25 Euro each. Plus the scenery around Glendalough and Co.Wicklow in
general is stunning.

Oh, and by the way, as its not strictly a QL show, if you are coming and
want something specific from any of the traders, then do contact them first
to ensure they bring it and have it in stock - most of them will be
travelling light!!

Cheers,
