Hi.
I'm basically curious. What are the features of the adapter? Any web page
explaining? Where does it plug in? Which QL does it need? Who built it, or
is it home-made?
Thanks in advance for your help
Hi Guillermo,
since I was the one that got these for QLers in the first place let me briefly explain:
1. The CF adaptors are for QL equipped with QubIDE IDE controllers, Amiga QDOS machines and Q40/Q60 QL compatible computers.
(Also working with every machine that has a IDE Interface )
2. It accepts Compact Flash cards (Not CF+ made by Lexar ones on regular QLs/Auroras) of any size that the QubIDE firmware will support
3. It's viewable as a Win drive on any QL.
4. As for which QL needs it... well NO QL NEEDS it... you can chose to get one that's all ;-)
Your other option for reliable, transportable storage is (only if you have a real QL or Aurora replacement maiboard -or even a Thor but I am not sure about that) to get the superb RomDisQ from TF Services.
The Romdisq is a lot faster than the CF adaptor, however it only works on QLs (not other hardware( and does not come in sizes exceeding 8 megabytes (8 megs btw is more than enough for most booting/software operations)
Hope I helped,
Phoebus
