Hi folks, This adds some details to the recent notes from John Gilpin and Darren:
The Micro Mart computer fair will be held on Sunday 30th November 2003, 10am thru 5pm, in Hall 17 of the Birmingham NEC. It will include a 'Retro' section where Acorn, Amiga, Apple, Atari, Commodore, Vic20, Sinclairs etc. will be running what is described as 'classic software' - this includes games. Your favorite operating systems (SmSQ and QDos) will also be present, running on a QL, 2 or 3 SGC-Auroras, my Q-40, and a Q-60, if D&D are able to appear. John Gilpin and I will run the other machines. Sarah will 'man' the Quanta stand. For the broad-minded, Linux will be visible on request. Our only 'Retro' activity will be genuine computation, if my 'black box' can be persuaded to produce the circumstances of the transit of Venus across the Sun in 1769. This event was seen by Captain Cook near Tahiti in that year, while testing chronometers. We hope lots of you will come by and support us. The venue may be found at www.multimap.co.uk by entering the postal code B40 1NT. The Multi-Map web site may also give you directions from your address. I believe further information about the event may also be found on Micro Mart's home page at www.micromart.co.uk, or at www.necgroup.co.uk/visitor/thenec/ Alex Wells
