Alternatively you can get an Atari emulator such as Steem and format a floppy through there (that will format HD disks as well) plus you can copy directly from the PC hdd.I have downloaded the Steem emulator and it is quite interesting, although I never owned an Atari machine so it is a little hard to navigate. The files that come with it suggest that it will not use Atari format disks and I have yet to find a way to get it to format a floppy. In fact I have yet to find a way to get it to read a floppy. I have not had a lot of time to get it running though. I was trying to get SMSQ/E to run on it just for fun but it did not do t at first. I will try later.
I think I have an Atari floppy disk or two coming my way so the problem may be solved.
