AFAIK libcurl is used for WMS support. And since I removed WMS support
from QLGT it's not of real use to QLGT. I am not sure what sqlite3 is
used for. Possibly vector map data.

As OSX is unix-like gpsd should compile. The only problem is Win32. The
gpsd project actively does not support Windows. Users like to use gpsd
as it shares the GPS device among different applications.
