Hi Marcus, strange, especially as I tested the code with all my maps. OSRIsSame() proved to be very robust and solved compares with different strings that represent the same projection and datum.
Anyway I changed the compare a bit. Doing the old string compare first, OSRIsSame() if that fails. It's in SVN.
