hi all, time to clean up the pending feature list with a new release.
The major change has been done in the map section. As signaled in the past I decided to give QLGT a native WMS support. The GDAL approach is not usable for a GUI application. Now the GUI will stay responsive while loading the map. Of course loading will not be faster, just feel faster :). QLGT uses the same XML definition for WMS servers as GDAL does. The XML file is now a recognized format. Thus if you load the file, the map will be added to left hand map list. There is a small "but" as usual. If you want to stack maps you still have to use a *qmap file. And loading XML WMS definition via *qmap will still use the GDAL approach -> blocking GUI. To change this is quite a huge change in the concept of QLGT. That's why I didn't dare to fix this for now. Another nice feature containing WMS/TMS maps is the export of those maps to other formats. However I am not a friend sucking pirate copies from servers. Thus it's terrible limited. I think it's fair use of a server's resources if the export only takes those map tiles that are already stored in the tile cache. Thus if you want an area to export you have to view it first on that very particular zoom level. And that still does not solve the problem of breaking copyright laws. Thus please use it responsibly. Another change in the map section is support for a new raster map format. RMAP is used by the CompeGPS software TwoNav. And of course many little other changes. Some are listed below, most are of such a low importance that they never get mentioned. Have fun with the new release.
