Hi Lars,

yes this is correct. In fact I use the SRTM data of the Alps with various 
online maps. The only constrain for online/raster maps is that the SRTM data 
must have the same projection and datum as the map you want to attach it. TMS 
maps use a projection that can't be stored in a portable way, thus if you warp 
your data with:

"+proj=merc +a=6378137 +b=6378137 +lat_ts=0.0 +lon_0=0.0 +x_0=0.0 +y_0=0 +k=1.0 
+units=m +nadgrids=@null +no_defs"

QLGT will still tell you that it is not the same projection. In this case 
simply tell QLGT to take it anyway.
