When I want/need to do anything with any trekking/walking/flying/whatever data
from my Garmin 62s on a PC, I always copy those data from the device (seen as
mass storage) as GPX files, and process them on my PC after that. (It can be
about QLGT, or Google Earth, or whatever other use/processing.)

Since there is a feature whereby a GPS device can be used directly in QLGT, and
people sometimes discuss it on this list, I believe there are use cases where
it makes sense to do it that way. Could any kind soul explain to me any
benefits of such direct transfer, compared with just copying GPX files to a PC
and using them as input data for QLGT (i.e. the way I do it now)? Maybe I am
missing something, maybe I will start using it some day...

Best regards,
Maksym
