Hi,
you are right there seems to be another bug in the timezone library. I hope I can get the author to fix that. Hopefully QT 5.1 has it's own timezone support. That would be a good reason to switch.
For topic #2 I am not sure what's the problem. To me the values are ok. Please keep in mind that this as the accumulated ascend and descend.

I selected UTC and time is right.
I selected Moscow and time is UTC-4hours, but must have UTC+4hours.
2.
I created a track from the overlay and have a problem with heights.
