Hi Martin, for me, qlandkartegt-1.7.6 works with Gnome3. So there is no general incompatibility. Your problem reminds me of one I had with qgis, which is based on Qt as well. I found out the reason was connected with the standard Gnome3 theme Adwaita and the corresponding GTK2 rendering engine lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libadwaita.so. On Gnome desktops, Qt uses GTK2 for displaying themes etc. Gnome3 uses GTK3. To find out if your problem is related, you could try to change the GTK theme from Adwaita to something else. My solution was to reinstall gnome-themes-standard.
