Hi,
QMapShack is getting closer and closer to V 1.0. The last big part is support
for my GPS devices. Which are
a Garmin 62s and a CompeGPS Sportiva. I skip the Magellan as the unit is crap
and Magellan did us the
favour to stop selling crappy outdoor devices.
I started with my Garmin. The Sportiva will probably be target of next
release. And the whole thing is a
Linux-only feature right now. If you want to have device support on Windows you
have to write the device
watcher class for Windows. There is already a dummy and the needed code isn't
that hard to write. It more
setting up the development environment and testing.
On Linux you have to have installed the UDisks2 package. Afaik many distros
have it installed anyway. If it is
working you will see your device in the workspace when plugged to the PC and
switched to bulk memory.
You send projects and GIS items via drag-n-drop to the device. And copy items
in the device via drag-n-drop
to your projects on the workspace. I will write a bit of documentation later on
to explain it with screenshots.
Have fun with the release.
Oliver
