Hi,

well we reached V1.0. My personal definition for that is: It does everything I
require. That does not
necessarily mean that it does what you require. But I think the code is in a
good shape and a good base to
be extended by others.

The last major add-on was to support GPS devices in Windows, too. Helmut and me
figured it out last
weekend. It's just tested with 3 devices. That is not a very good test
coverage. Please report every problem
you have.

I also implemented some of the suggestions from the last weeks discussions.
Originally I wanted to add
these to post V1.0.0 versions. That's why I opened a new branch. However as the
whole release was
delayed I merged the two branches. The "default" branch will stay the cutting
edge.

I wrote a list of features. It is part of the Wiki's welcome page.

https://bitbucket.org/maproom/qmapshack/wiki/Home

I encourage every one to contribute to the project. The documentation needs
some overhauling as the GUI
did change. And probably may things need to be explained a bit better. Thus
share your experiences and
update the Wiki.

If you want new features use the issue tracker:

https://bitbucket.org/maproom/qmapshack/issues?status=new&status=open

If you want to fix an issue, assign it to you. Else leave the assignment open
to be picked up by someone
else. There is no guarantee at all that an opened issue will be implemented at
all. But it's a good place to
collect ideas. And maybe you are lucky.

Have fun with the release!

Oliver
