Hi, you probably have the same problem as discussed a while ago in the german forum http://www.naviboard.de/vb/showthread.php?p=476146#post476146
On Windows, the shell does not expand the wildcards and gdalbuildvrt does not expand them either. I have been successful with a 2-setp approach: - first create a list of the *.hgt files in a file - then run gdalbuildvrt on this file list for %f in (*.hgt) DO echo %f >> hgt_list.txt gdalbuildvrt -vrtnodata 32767 Alpen.vrt -input_file_list hgt_list.txt HTH Helmut Am 09.03.2015 um 10:13 schrieb Mitxel In: > Hi Rj > > I don't know about the limitation on the number of files with gdalbuildvrt. > > The file list that you are showing does not fit the Portugal area: you > are missing a lot of hgt files for the contienetal area of Portugal, and > in the other hand there are a lot of files for areas out of Portugal (I > think).
