Hi VladimĂr,

just before I discuss your wishes I would like to point everyone to the wiki
article about bugs and features:

https://bitbucket.org/maproom/qmapshack/wiki/BugFeatures

By that all those ideas are better documented than in several threads of the
mailing list. And the chances
are increasing that someone will take care of it.

Over the years users kept bashing on QLGT that it is not displaying all data
the moment the device is
connecting. Like Basecamp. Some even say newer Garmin devices are not supported
in QLGT because of
that . Which is bogus but senseless to discuss.

If there is a download button like QLGT does it users complain it's not
intuitive enough. If I add a message
box to ask every time a device is connected, it will drive me nuts (I already
regret that "ask on close to
save" message box).

So without a really good concept I favor the current approach that is very
convenient if you do not have
more than necessary on your device.

press F8, and just load those projects from the database you really need for
now. :D

It's a bit tricky as I use the name to link map, DEM and canvas. But that is
more a design fault. It's not really
on top of my list. But if it is in the issue list it's not forgotten and others
might find interest in implementing
it.

Yes that is a nice thing if you want to start to get into the QMS source code.
Put it to the issue list to find
someone to jump on it.

I do not understand what you mean in particular. The look of Qt5 is influenced
by the theme of your window
manager applied to Qt5 applications.

If you don't like the icons you can donate a new icon collection by replacing
the SVG files in src/icons.

If you do not like how the treewidgets are structured make a proposal for
discussion on how to improve
them.

As usual I prefer real help over wishes. Thus it's always advised to do as much
as you can on your own.

Oliver
