If root works it's a rights problem for sure. Do you start QMS with a script
that changes to user?
Maybe someone else has a clue. I will be hiking the next days. So I can't
answer anymore until end of weeks

But, as i said, with qlandkartegt and other programs there are no
problems to save files on harddisk as user. Hm ...
And i didn't work with a . in upfront and i take only "normal"
characters are digits like b14lauter5.gpx
