so far nothing is done for a live log feature. This has to be implemented from 
scratch. As QMS 
supports several map views it might be interesting to have a position source 
for each view. Or to 
support several sources on one view. Anyway you have to deal with multiple 
views now.

Probably it's best to create your own IDrawContext sub-class. Like the ones for 
maps, dem and gis 
data. Have a look at those classes and how they are used in CCanvas for a start.

So far the DBus thing is used to detect new USB devices and to mount them. GPSD 
is a completely 
different service.
