Hi,

finally a new release after a three month break. But we haven't been
idling all the time. There was a lot of work and progress. If you have a
look at the repository log you see many commits by Christian, Ivo,
Peter, Luis. Thanks to all. And of course to all sending translations
and smaller patches.

What are the big new features? Well support for MySQL and concurrent
multi-user access to the database is the largest one for sure. And the
reason why there was no earlier release. It's a pity that it is probably
not of interest for most single users. Maybe if you have a spitted
personality. The most obvious advantage for a single user will be that
you can open multiple instances of QMapShack with a working database.

If you work in a team, e.g. search and rescue, it will be more fun. The
moment you save an item into the database all other instances connected
to the database will update, too. Let's see how this will prove useful.

Next to that we spent some work on the track details dialog. You can
configure line width and the arrows of a track. You can setup limits to
the track line colorization and the graphs. And there are two new
filters to split a track by segment and to remove extensions like the
heart rate.

A word about the limit buttons: There are tree buttons. The one in the
middle is the automatic limit button. This is what QMapShack has done
before. Now you can apply limits for the single track (left button) and
global limit for all tracks (right button). The global limits are stored
in the system configuration. The track dependent one in the track data
(*qms and database).

There is support for two new data formats. Garmin's *fit format and
Mio's *.slf format. Both are read only.

There is also a new map format GEMF. These are OSM raster tiles to go.
It's not very efficient but it's a convenient way to use a TMS serve
like map offline. And how cares a bout a few GB on the hard drive these
days?

On the Garmin devices you will find the archive folder now represented
as a real folder. The GPX files in the folder will not be loaded right
from the start when the devices is detected by QMapShack. They will be
loaded when you open the folder.

Additionally each project sent to the Garmin device will create an
adventure file, too. If you remove the project via QMapShack the
adventure file will be deleted, too. Please note that any Garmin
software product will not recognize these adventures due to bad hashes
stored in the file. But it helps to organize data on the device.

That's it. Of course there are many more little fixes and enhancements.
For all details read the changelog or the repository log.

Have fun with the release.

Oliver
