Nearly the same trick applied to WMS can be done to build a WMTS request. Here is an example for Spanish IGN Raster map:

For most cases you only have to edit the URL string before &TileMatrix=
Note that WMTS request is `getTile` instead of `getMap` , so there is no need to define a BBOX, but the `TileMatrix`, `TileRow`, and `TileCol` parameters must be included.
This is a useful workaround if loading a map with its WMTSCapabilities.xml file fails.
