Hello, I also have some trouble regardning exchanging data with my Garmin etrex. I read https://github.com/Maproom/qmapshack/wiki/DocGisDevices.
I don't see an "Autom. sync. w. device" entry in the context menu of workspace projects. I don't know if my qmapshack (from Debian stable) is new enough, however. Anyway, I have "Send to devices". With that I do have the following problem: I have a workspace project named "Temp", a scratch project that is not saved in the database. I have created a new route in that project. Then I "Send to devices" the whole project to the SD-Card Device of the Garmin. So far, so good. After removing and starting the Garmin, the route was there. BUT, after restarting qms, the route was missing from the Temp project. AFAICT it was the only item that was missing. I could reproduce this behavior three times in a row. Does anybody know why this happens and if it can be prevented? Since the Garmin sometimes seems to silently change route contents (when there are too many intermediate points?), this can mean real data loss.
