Hi,
One of my friend is having a problem where his
qmail server(using ldap patch)
is receving spam mail. The spam mail
seem
to go to users starting with 'aa....' then ab...' ,
then 'ac....' etc .
How did the spammers know the users in the system?
He couldn't detect bounce mail, so obviously the spammer is not trying sending
to random users or permutation of users.
Any idea how that was done?
The obvious solution was to put an entry into
the badmailfrom file but obviously this is only temporary measure.
What're the preventive measures for such
problems?
