Hi,
I hope somebody can please, please help me on
this. It's very urgent..
I've setup a top level mailserver (
tigger.mydomain ) using qmail-ldap and it's main purpose is to route/relay
incoming mails from the outside to two separate mailservers, namely:
pooh.sub1.mydomain and boardwalk.sub2.mydomain.
My question is how does tigger know to which
mailserver to route for a particular username that is listed in my ldap.
I've provided a mailhost attribute in my ldap( whether it's pooh or boardwalk )
and i've enabled relaying using tcpserver and i've also created
~control/smtproutes:
sub1.mydomain:[pooh's IP]
sub2.mydomain:[boardwalk's IP]
mydomain:[pooh's IP]
mydomain:[boardwalk's IP]
:[IP for outgoing mails] The different situations and outcomes are:
-if smtproutes doesn't exist, mail is delivered locally
postmaster@tigger
-if it does, it's sent to boardwalk.sub2.mydomain even if the
mailHost of a user is listed as pooh.sub1.mydomain in my ldap
-if lines 3 and 4 of smtproutes are ommited, the incoming mail
is sent back to [IP for outgoing mails], from which where it passed through
before arriving at tigger
If anyone can help, I really need the answer
soon...
