Well, again, I'm sure I missed something simple (I don't like to look like the idiot, but hey, I'm good at it sometimes).
I've taken what used to be my main mail server and turned it into a mail server that only takes mail for anteek.geeksanon.ca, the rest is sent to mail.geeksanon.ca. However, when anteek tries to send mail to @geeksanon.ca, it gets a CNAME deferral. I've read the FAQs I could find regarding this, and I can't quite see what is causing that. I've removed all references to mail.geeksanon.ca and geeksanon.ca being a local domain, however rcpthosts still allows it (as anteek still will perform MX backup). I've done all the DNS lookups, and I don't use any CNAMEs in the records to begin with for geeksanon.ca (except for two www hostnames). All servers in the path, notably anteek and mail, are able to find the addresses. Is this something to do with qmail-LDAP itself in causing this, or is the bare qmail just misconfigured? Now, here is the log: Oct 3 10:35:32 anteek qmail: 1002126932.500980 new msg 226486 Oct 3 10:35:32 anteek qmail: 1002126932.508386 info msg 226486: bytes 771 from <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> qp 18777 uid 1031 Oct 3 10:35:32 anteek qmail: 1002126932.817443 starting delivery 48: msg 226486 to remote [EMAIL PROTECTED] Oct 3 10:35:32 anteek qmail: 1002126932.817593 status: local 0/10 remote 1/20 Oct 3 10:35:32 anteek qmail: 1002126932.883472 delivery 48: deferral: CNAME_lookup_failed_temporarily._(#4.4.3)/ Oct 3 10:35:32 anteek qmail: 1002126932.883615 status: local 0/10 remote 0/20 -- | Stephen "Slepp" Olesen / VE6SLP | Edmonton, Alberta, Canada / (780) 425-4798 | President of Geeks Anonymous + http://www.geeksanon.ca/ +---------------------------------
