I've written an application called LAST that's intended to be a generic
interface to editing objects in LDAP, with lots of options for display
preferences and security settings.  It's working pretty well, and the
last few things that need to be implemented (Templates and Sub-Object
support) are being sorted out now.

It requires a bit of setup, as you must describe your schema using a 
Stub language, which then creates OO Perl modules.  It works great, though,
and gives you lots of flexibility.
