ok, but you still haven't answered the question. are you saying that nfs is so bad, that given the choice between spending 200K on hardware, using a NFS-based solution that works 90% of the time, or doing nothing, that doing nothing is the preferred option? the yugo may still get me from home to work. sitting at home and telling my employer that i can't get to work because i can't afford a lexus (or honda, or whatever), and i'm unwilling to put up with design elements of the yugo that i don't find acceptable gets me fired.
