How to auto-turn work... how-to setup?

Apparently, there is a test page for the banks. They are looking for fairly
basic operation as our old system did this on the mx gateway. The backend
did not support it, but it passed the test. This is a problem, as we are
now trying to implement smtp-auth. This precludes the use of the mx gateway
that was previously in used.

:-(

If it's true, whoever implemented the system for the banks screwed-up big
time; 1) DSN is not guaranteed to work with any SMTP server (because the
remote server may not support it, and may support it in an unexpected way
for the originating server). 2) Bad idea (because it shouldn't be a server's
responsiblity among other reasons).

There are some alternatives implemented in a sane way (auto-turn?).
