Hello, Today I got the following error in my logs:
alert: unable to append to bounce message; HELP! sleeping... alert: unable to append to bounce message; HELP! sleeping... alert: unable to append to bounce message; HELP! sleeping... alert: unable to append to bounce message; HELP! sleeping... This error came many times in quick succession, and then qmail died. I restarted the qmail, thru # qmailctl stop # qmailctl start but nothing happened. I manually removed the message due to which this error started. but again, nothing worked. Then, I manually killed /service/qmail-send/log and /service/qmail-smtpd/log and then restarted it, by issuing 'svc -d' and 'svc -u' command. After that it started working.! I want to know what could be the cause, and how to rectify it, because this is not a permanent solution to it. I'm using qmail-ldap-1.03-20020801 on RedHat 7.2 Yesterday I got the following error, and qmail was not working: @400000003dc1fca03b080d8c warning: qmail-todo: trouble writing to info/22/146325 @400000003dc1fca03b08349c new msg 146325 @400000003dc1fca03b084c0c warning: qmail-todo: trouble writing to info/22/146325 @400000003dc1fca03b08731c new msg 146325 @400000003dc1fca03b096934 warning: qmail-todo: trouble writing to info/22/146325 @400000003dc1fca03b099044 new msg 146325 I stopped qmail, and removed many messages from queue. On restarting qmail, it started working. But i want to know the cause, or solution to this problem also. Thanks in advance Qutub.
