contact LDAP server error

hi

when i m loading my.ldif  into directory with the ldapadd utility through this command

 

# ldapadd -acrv -h ldap.operations.com -D "cn=manager,dc=operations,dc=com" -w managers_password -f my.ldif

i m getting this error.

 

ldap_init( ldap.operations.com, 0 )
ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server

 

here is my.ldif file

 

suffix    "dc=operations, dc=com"

dn: dc=operations, dc=com
  objectclass: top

  dn: ou=accounts, dc=operations, dc=com
  objectclass: top
  objectclass: organizationalUnit

  dn: uid=elvis, ou=accounts, dc=operations, dc=com
  cn: Elvis Presley
  sn: Presley
  objectClass: top
  objectClass: person
  objectClass: inetOrgPerson
  objectClass: qmailUser
  mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  mailAlternateAddress: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  mailAlternateAddress: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

either the path of my.ldif is not correct plz tell me how can i create my,ldif and where should i place my.ldif.
