About the controls patch.
I understand that it's not in the latest patch on qmail-ldap.org

But, and I have asked this question before,
could qmail-ldap be patched so that you can specify a ldap filter for locals,
rcpthosts, etc ?

like:
~/control/ldaplocal is
dc=example,dc=com?qmailLocal?sub?(objectclass=qmailDomain)

or something along these lines ?

In my vision, qmail-ldap is used a lot with virtual hosting. Most of the
management of virtual hosting is done per domain, i.e. there is some entry
that holds some attributes typical to the domain, and then under that there
is a bunch of emailadresses. If the 'domain' entry had values for 'local'
'rcpthost' and stuff, qmail-ldap could read simply all domains and construct
a locals file, a rcpthosts file, etc. Of course this can be done by a
script.. but why not in the code itself ?

Cheers,
ace
