Case sensitivity

Has something changed recently in the handling of domain names with 
respect to case sensitivity?

I used to be able to receive email at CHAN.ID.AU, but now I get the "I'm 
listed as best MX, but it isn't in my locals file" error.

The version I was running previously was an early 2003 version, from 
memory, and I'm on 20031101a at the moment.
