But that only comes into play if you do a query like 'mail=b*' and get back a huge result set. Qmail-ldap doesn't do wildcard queries like that as far as I know. I agree with the other poster: see if the 'mail' and 'mailalternateaddress' columns are indexed on the LDAP server. But that's an LDAP problem and you can see that by looking at the ldap queries taking a long time. Can you do a query on your qmail-ldap server like qmail-ldaplookup -m [EMAIL PROTECTED] and see if you get back an entry? If you don't then its an LDAP problem. Chris
